Czech Circuits: Enge dominated again, Kox and Kiesa second - 12.08.2008

Tomas Enge did not find a defeater during the Int. Czech Circuits Championship Division 4 at Most and won both Sprint and together with Antonin Charouz and Stefan Mücke also the endurance race. The perfect weekend for Charouz Racing System underlined second place of the trio Peter Kox, Nicolas Kiesa and Vaclav Nimc. It was another weekend of hard fight between old rivals Mercedes and Audi in the Czech championship and also in the Central european Zone championship.

This weekend saw two wins of a Mercedes AMG DTM C-Class and Enge was signed under both of them. Together with Antonin Charouz and Stefan Mucke won the three hours endurance race on Saturday after they fought hard with sister Charouz Racing System Mercedes driven by Nicolas Kiesa, Peter Kox and Vaclav Nimc.

Both Kox and Kiesa were impressed by the quality of the championship and their machinery. „I enjoyed it a lot. It is pleasure to drive this car and I would be happy to start again in the championship with this team,“ said Kiesa and Kox added: „The main thing is that we fulfilled our roles and helped Tony Charouz’s team. It is my first time in a DTM car and I can do it again immediately. I worked with Czech drivers and a team in the past and once again I saw also here that they are nice people.“

Sunday saw Sprint race and Enge had to fight hard at the start. Tomas Kostka with an Audi A4 DTM was alongside him at the first corner but the former F1 driver kept the first place and held it to the line. He pleased all fans after the finish when he did few spins and doughnuts. “It was the closest fight with Tomas Kostka till now,” said Enge. “The car ran without problems and I open and keep some gap till the end. It was successful weekend, we won endurance race and Sprint.”
