LMS: Enge qualified second in the LMGT1 class - 26.04.2008

Duo Tomas Enge and Antonio Garcia dominated all free practices but had to settle with the second place in the qualifying for the 1000 km Monza race. The Czech driver behind the wheel of the Aston Martin DBR9 finished behind the Monegasque driver Olivier Beretta. Enge and Garcia improved lap times in all practices. The qualifying gap between the first and second in the GT1 class is less than three tenths.

Tomas Enge: “The qualifying went without any issues. I managed to do three flying laps and the last one was the fastest. All were within three tenths. I must say that that we were surprised by the time that set Olivier Beretta, my rival from the 24 hours Le Mans and also the ALMS.  He and his team mates were much slower in the practices. We will see tomorrow. The race will be long, as always in the Le Mans Series, and I am looking forward to the fights.”
